I've had my eye on this tree for several months, thinking it might make an interesting image at sunset. I captured this image at dusk with a flock of starlings in the branches when the Stouts wildfire near Canyonville, Oregon and the River Complex fire near Shasta in California poured smoke into the Rogue Valley. The tree sits in a dry cow pasture.
